Grilled Gourmet Ham and Cheese
The classic grilled cheese isnt just for kids anymore. This gourmet take on the lunchtime favorite adds Texas toast, red onion and, of course, delicious Smithfield Ham.
Cook Time: 20 Minutes
2 tablespoons butter, melted
4 slices Texas toast thick-sliced bread
1 (8-ounce) package Brie cheese, sliced ¼ thick
4 slices beefsteak tomato
2 cups Honey Cured Boneless Ham Steak, cut into ¼ thick strips
2 slices of red onion
1. Brush one side of each slice of Texas toast with melted butter
2. Place one slice of bread, buttered side down, in a 10 nonstick skillet or on a grill pan
3. Layer 2 slices of Brie cheese, 2 slices of tomato, 1 cup of honey-cured ham, 1 slice onion and 2 slices of Brie cheese; top with bread, butter side up
4. Cook over medium-high heat for 23 minutes a side or until bread is lightly browned and cheese is melted
5. Cut in half; serve
