Soda-Soaked Baked Apples

This easy and delicious treat goes great with Smithfield Smoked Pork Chops.

Serves: 4
Cook Time: 1 Hour

Ingredients

• 4 large Gala apples, cored
• 1 cup firmly packed brown sugar
• 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 1/2 cup raisins
• 1/2 cup (1 stick) butter, softened at room temperature
• 1 12-ounce can cola flavored carbonate beverage

Steps

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Lightly grease a 9"x9"x2" baking dish. In a small bowl mix sugar, raisins, and cinnamon. Mix in butter until well combined. Spoon sugar mixture into the center of each apple, packing down well with a wooden spoon. Place apples on prepared baking dish. Pour cola over apples. Bake uncovered for 1 hour or until apples are tender.

Serve with Smithfield Smoked Pork Chops.
