Serves: 60
Cook Time: 20 Minutes
Preheat oven to 375 degrees F. Spray a 15-by-10-by-1" baking sheet with vegetable oil cooking spray.
Combine all of the ingredients in a large bowl and mix well with your fingers. The mixture will be very crumbly. Form into 1" balls, squeezing the mixture so it holds together, then rolling it between the palms of your hands to form balls. Place balls on the prepared baking sheet.
Bake for 18 to 20 minutes, until golden brown. To prevent sticking, move the sausage balls with a spatula halfway through cooking. When cool, remove them from the cookie sheet.
To make dipping sauce, combine all dipping sauce ingredients into a small sauce pan. Stir over low heat for 3-4 minutes until sugar dissolves. Serve warm or at room temperature. You can also make this ahead of time and keep it in the refrigerator until you're ready for it.

A co-worker brought this sausage balls recipe into work one morning, and they disappeared fast!! I know she got tired of us, for we were always begging her to bring in more. Last Xmas holiday, she made more and gave us each an index card with the recipe. I misplaced mine, and she happily directed me to this website. I am following this to the letter....and am off to the store. Awesome!

Wow! What a great appetizer to bring to a party! These sausage balls are so easy to make and were a huge hit at my family gathering. They are okay to serve at room temperature and have a nice "crunch" to them. Loved the flavor. Thanks, Smithfield!
