Holiday Leftovers Sandwich

This sandwich uses any combination of leftovers (really!) and it's so tasty you'll dream about it all year!

Serves: 6
Cook Time: 20 Minutes

Smithfield Product: Spiral Ham, All Other Ham, Paula Deen Crunchy Glaze Ham

Ingredients

  • Leftover Smithfield Ham
  • 6 sandwich rolls (any fresh sandwich roll will work)
  • Butter to toast rolls
  • Leftover sweet potatoes (anyway you like them!) or mashed potatoes
  • Leftover stuffing or dressing
  • Leftover cranberry sauce (or just open another can!)
  • Leftover gravy

Steps

Spread butter on both sides of the rolls and toast or grill in a skillet. Place your leftover sweet potatoes, stuffing and gravy in separate microwave safe containers to heat through. To assemble the sandwich, it is key to remember to not go overboard. You want the sandwich to be easy to eat while still capturing the flavor of each ingredient. Begin with a slice or two of ham. Top the ham with a thin layer of sweet potatoes. Top sweet potatoes with a thin layer of the stuffing. Top the stuffing with a thin layer of cranberry sauce. Drizzle gravy over the entire sandwich before serving.

Serving Suggestions

This sandwich is so versatile it works with all kinds of leftovers - just get creative!

This is a man's sandwich. My husband craves this one and wants Thanksgiving dinner all year long so he can have a sandwich for the next week!
