
Grilled Ham Sausage and Swiss Burger with Pineapple
Grilled Ham Sausage makes for a new twist on an old favorite.
Ingredients
- 1 pkg. (12 oz.) Smithfield Ham Sausage
- 1/2 cup dry breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/3 cup finely chopped green pepper
- 1 teaspoon dried minced onions
- 2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns
- 4 thin slices fresh pineapple
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
Steps
Combine first 7 ingredients. Shape into 4 patties (3 ˝-inches in diameter). Grill on greased grill grid, covered, over medium-high heat (350° to 400°F) 5 to 6 minutes on each side or until done. Place cheese on patties; grill until melted. Grill buns, cut side down, several minutes or until toasted. Brush pineapple slices with butter and grill until lightly browned, approximately 2 to 3 minutes per side. Place ham patties on toasted buns and top with pineapple slices. If desired, serve with brown mustard.
