Cuban Sandwich

Don't just fix a sandwich - fix a sandwich with some interesting fixins! Also known as 'cubano' or 'midnight sandwich,' these sandwiches will bring the flavor of Cuba to your table.

Serves: 1
Cook Time: 10 Minutes

Smithfield Product: Luncheon Meat, Pork Roast

Ingredients

  • 1/4 pound Smithfield Deli Thin Tub Lunchmeat
    1/4 pound thinly sliced Smithfield Pork Roast
    1 loaf French bread
    Mayonnaise
    Dijon or prepared mustard
    3 slices Swiss cheese
    Pickle slices
    Butter for skillet grilling

Steps

Slice the bread in half lengthwise. Spread one half with mayonnaise and the other with mustard. Layer the Swiss cheese and ham on one half of the bread, followed by pork roast slices. Layer the pickle slices over the pork. Top with the other bread half. In a large skillet over medium-high heat enough butter to coat the cooking surface. Place the sandwich in the pan and weight with another heavy pan or a brick wrapped in foil and grill until the cheese is melted.
