1. Preheat oven to 425°F. Carefully roll out pie crust into ceramic or glass pie or tart plate. Add cranberries, layering in bottom of crust, and sprinkle with brown sugar and refrigerate until needed.
2. In medium bowl, stir together sugar and flour. In separate bowl, whisk egg until frothy and stir in cream, allspice and orange zest until thoroughly mixed. Stir cream into flour mixture until just combined.
3. Pour cream mixture over cranberries in pie crust and bake for 10 minutes. Lower oven temperature to 350°F and bake for 35-40 minutes or until crust is golden brown and cranberries have begun to burst. Cool on wire rack before serving.
Chef’s Tip:
Are family members a little squeamish of tart cranberries? Lure them in to this dessert by serving with a dollop of sweetened whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
