Super Sweet Valentine’s Party

Super Sweet Valentine's Party

This adorable “I Heart Valentine’s Day” party is by the very talented ladies, Maureen and Adria, from Anders Ruff Custom Designs. This party makes me so happy! Don’t you just want to jump right into the pictures and be apart of this party?! Or even better eat the wonderful sweet treats on the table.

Maureen and Adria designed the fabulous printables and used them throughout the party (available in their etsy shop). Not only that, but there is also so much great DIY inspiration to be found throughout this party – a few of my personal favorites being the use of wrapped/decorated boxes to act as serving trays for some of the treats, the heart favor boxes that were created from a template (also available in their printable collection), and the fantastic heart garland that was hung in a scallop shape from the front of the table. They punched the hearts out of the printable papers from their collection. Too cute!

I think they did a marvelous job designing this Valentine’s Day party with kids in mind! The style of the printable collection is fun, festive and perfect for both the young and young-at-heart. They used mixed glassware for their main serving and display pieces. Apothecary jars of varying heights and styles were displayed at the back of the table, along with a large, glass beverage-dispensing jar. Wrapped boxes with ribbon wraps were used to plate some of the small finger desserts.

Fabric was used as the table backdrop, and they made some Pink Paper Plate polyhedrons and hung 3 (equally spaced) above the dessert table. So creative! Aren't they amazing? I bet these would be a fun project for kids to help with too!

Now let's talk about all the sweet treats found throughout this party! The cupcakes were topped with fondant hearts and sparkling sugar, and heart shaped and circular lollipops were stuck into a paper wrapped styrofoam box. White, Pink and Red Chocolate Truffle Pops were placed in cute liners and embellished with hearts from their printable collection. They set these on a tray of heart shaped sprinkles. Yum! Not only was there cupcakes and truffle pops but adorable sugar cookies from Allyson Jane.

And we can't forget about the candy throughout this party! The Kisses were labeled with circular stickers on the bottom, and mini Chocolate Bars were customized with printable candy bar wrappers. There was also lollipops, cotton candy, red hots, and marshmallows on the dessert table. No sweet was left out in this super "sweet" party.

A big thanks to Maureen and Adria for allow me to share their fabulous Valentine's party with you. The Printable “I Heart Valentine’s Day” Collection can be purchased at Anders and Ruff Custom Designs etsy shop. The collection includes loads of designs to make your Valentine’s Day a special one, whether you are celebrating with your sweet heart or making it special for the kids and it is suitable for everyone from the first-time hostess to the advanced crafter.

Happy Valentine's everyone!

Alice in Wonderland Party

Alice in Wonderland Party

When Disney's Alice and Wonderland came out earlier this year I think every girl, big and small, was excited to see this new movie. And something tells me that since the movie's release there have been a lot of “Wonderland” themed celebrations dreamed up by little girls (and mom's) everywhere. This amazing Alice and Wonderland Party was dreamt up by the amazingly talented and super creative Kim from TomKat Studio’s and the ultra talented photographer Laura Winslow.  The two collaborated with several others to make this party come alive. I think every little girl's dream would come true with this party.

The party was bright and colorful throughout, from the parties décor to the amazing flowers. Even the amazing polka dot paper lanterns hanging from the trees were in a vibrant orange, yellow, and green. All details were covered even down to the table setting. The place settings included real china tea cups, plates, name cards, colorful paper cups, and a floral bouquet for each girl.

And let's talk about the cupcakes. I think everyone loves a cupcake and who wouldn't love them with these super cute cupcake toppers?

There were two kinds of cupcakes, even one that was decorated with amazing fondant flowers and butterflies all matching the colors of the party. And if the cupcakes weren't enough there was also the cutest teacup cookies!

And who says an Alice and Wonderland party is just for the little ones? I love the idea of tailoring the Wonderland theme to adult parties too – like milestone birthdays, bridal showers, and whimsical engagement parties! What do you think?

A very special thanks to Kim and Laura for allow me to share with you this amazing Alice and Wonderland party. Be sure to check out more amazing photo's from this party here. Now what is your little girls dream birthday party? I would love to hear.

Modern Train Party

Modern Train Party

Melisa from the ultra-creative Little Apple Design and Project Nursery created this adorable party for her son’s 3rd birthday that features a Thomas the Train theme with a modern, updated twist. Melisa came up with the theme of her son Austin’s birthday due to his 2 year obsession with Thomas The Tank Engine. Before he out grew Thomas, she knew she had to throw him a Thomas & Friends party! This party is such a great example of how you can “style up” any sort of theme to fit your own personal taste! And Melisa covered every detail from the super cute invites to even a trackless train that rolled through the neighborhood.

Melisa set the tone of her son's party with custom paper invites for close friends and family and saved money with free personalized online invitations for her son's preschool class. Also, with the help of a friend Kelly from WH Hostess, all the crafty party details from the logos, stickers to banners were created.

The menu consisted of gourmet sandwiches, crust-less cream cheese and jelly sandwiches for the kids, mac & cheese squares, Chinese chicken salad in takeout containers, logo cups filled with baby carrots, snow peas and individual hummus disks. The dessert menu included cupcakes, sugar cookies, chocolate cake topped with a custom fondant train, and candy jars filled with cherry balls, taffy and licorice.

The backyard was set up with tables with blue tablecloths to match the color theme. The other decorations included the use of 3 foot balloons for a modern statement and simple centerpieces that consisted of of eco-friendly vases, shredded tissue paper and clever signs on a stick.

The big hit of the party was the trackless train that rolled through the neighborhood. Melisa passed out engineer hats and whistles as the kids boarded Austin’s party train. And even better, the kids got to bring the hats and whistles home with them along with Thomas tattoos, coloring paper, homemade train shaped crayons and bags FULL of candy.

What an amazing Modern train party that any little boy (or girl) would love to have. Thank you Melisa for sharing with us your son's amazing 3rd birthday party!
