Grass Table Setting

Simple, organic elements of grass and cotton fabrics create a peaceful, inviting dinner table.

There couldn't be a more natural, yet beautiful, way to set your table. Most of the components you probably already have in your home, and the rest are easy to find and inexpensive. All you need is a large piece of burlap, green linen napkins, a white casserole dish and white dishes, tiny pots, and a flat of grass. After the dinner, you can plant the grass for lasting memories.

1. Drape the table with a large piece of burlap.

2. For the centerpiece and place setting decorations, purchase a flat of grass from a local garden shop, nursery, or home improvement center. Look for tiny copper or clay pots where gardening supplies or crafts are sold. Cut the flat of grass to fit inside a plain white casserole dish for the centerpiece and a tiny pot for each place setting. Water the grass, allowing excess water to drain off, and nestle the pieces in the dish and pots.

3. Lay a green linen napkin at each place setting for a placemat. Stack white dinner plates and salad plates at each place setting; place napkins on top plate and the pots of grass on the napkins.

This is a interesting idea. I guess with a little imagination anything is possible.

I like this idea. It reminds me of Easter with the new green grass growing outside. What a neat idea..
